This column shows the IP address (if any) associated with a unit. For GPS devices that use a modem ID to identify themselves, this column will be automatically populated whenever a GPS report is received that matches the specified modem ID. GPS devices that use dynamic IP addresses require a Modem ID. When a GPS device is tracked by its static IP address, this value needs to be set ahead of time in the AVL Unit Configuration module, so the AVL Server knows which vehicle to assign all incoming GPS reports to.
