Checking this box will insure that this field will always be populated with the first value in the list when creating a New Feature on the layer. This function is available in both the Pick List (Basic) and Pick List (Advanced) input methods. This is recommended for values that rarely, if ever, change for new features. Common examples include State and County fields.
