Boundary

If using Pick Feature, this will default to the feature name, but it may be manually altered. If using Draw Fence, a short descriptive name should be entered here manually.

Alarm Type

This will either show as "Alarm on Enter," or "Alarm on Exit" based on which one is selected.

Dwell Time

The dwell time setting specifies how long a vehicle must be across the boundary before an alarm is triggered. Specify a low duration here, like 1 second, to immediately be notified whenever they cross the boundary; alternatively, specify a high duration here, like hours or even days, if interested in prolonged violations. The latter will eliminate alarms being triggered anytime a unit momentarily drives outside the boundary and back. The AVL Server only scans alarm conditions once every 10 seconds so there is effectively a 10 second dwell time on all boundary alarms.

Notes:

Whenever a vehicle triggers an entrance alarm by driving into a special area, no additional entrance alarms will be trigger for that same vehicle as it drives within the area until it leaves the area and re-enters. Likewise, when a vehicle triggers an exit alarm, no additional alarms will occur until it return to the boundary and exits again.
