Locate point for Coordinates you Enter

 

 

 

Use this tool when the coordinates of a point are known to display where it is on the map.

 

Locating a coordinate:

1) From the Lookup menu select Longitude/Latitude - Locate point for Coordinates you Enter.

2) Specify the type of coordinates (default is Longitude / Latitude).

3) Type in the coordinates to be located (see example below).

4) Click Find.

 

          

 

Interpreting Coordinates:

When reading a coordinate from the GPS display or other source it is very important to know which format the GPS is displaying so that users can enter the numbers correctly into the coordinate locater shown above.

Notes:

If users already know the location, but want to know the coordinates, use Display Coordinates for Point you Pick.

Users can commonly enter longitude before latitude and can swap the location of these fields on the form using a setting in Workstation Settings
