Line Style Library

In addition to the standard line types that may be assigned to a layer, users may also define complex line types. To add, change, or delete a custom line style, click the Edit button next to the line style pick list on the Layer Settings screen.

Each row of the line style editor defines a custom line style. Each character of the row represents, in order, how to draw consecutive segments of a complex line. Once the last segment is drawn, the sequence is repeated over and over until the end of the line is reached. Each line definition can contain up to 15 characters. The individual characters in the line definition have the following meaning:

- (dash) 1/8" line segment. Repeat multiple times for longer segments.

. (period) 1/32" line segment

 (space) 1/16" space

A-Z,0-9 All other letters, numbers, and symbols are drawn literally.

[...] A number inside a pair of square brackets at the beginning of a line is used to define the height of any literal characters included in the line definition. A number preceded by an "f" indicates the text height in feet. A number preceded by a "p" indicates text height in pixels.

Example:

"[f100]----T-- - " This example would consist of a half inch line then a 100' tall "T" then a 1/4" line, then a space, then a dash, then a space, then repeat.
