Client Connections

 

 

 

This diagnostic tool generates a list of all clients who currently have a connection to the service. A client can be any consumer of the AVL data such as a Think GIS user, an AVL Administrator, or others. A description of each column is as follows.

This is a unique serial number assigned to each new TCP connection.

IP Address

This is the IP address of the remote client.

HID

HID This is a computer hardware identifier that uniquely identifies what physical computer is being used to connect to the service. Not all types of connections show an HID.

Client Type

T: This is the header for the Client Type column. The following are the different types.

oT: A Think GIS user monitoring the vehicle locations.

oUDP: A Think GIS user using the older UDP connection method.

oM: An AVL Administrator connection.

oA: Another AVL Service is connected to this service as a client so that it can monitor these vehicles in addition to its own.

oD: Other supplemental WTH software user logged in. The client list only shows TCP based these types of clients.

od: A supplemental WTH software user not logged in.

oC: An AVL Client is connected.

User

The user name used by this client to login. Note, clients simply wanting to view the fleet locations, such as types T and A, are not required to login unless the "Require Login" checkbox is checked on the Output tab.

Recv

The number of bytes received from this client.

Send

The number of bytes sent to this client.

Permis

This number is a composite of all permission settings associated with this user's connection.

Groups

This number is a composite of all vehicle groups that this user is permitted to monitor.
