Event Log

Check this box on the Diagnostics tab to monitor any special events as they occur. Any log entries with a date time stamp come from the AVL Server. Log entries without a date time stamp are recorded by the AVL Administrator itself. Anything logged to this screen is also logged to the local file "AvlMonitor.log."

Log Packets

The Log Packets box will instruct the AVL Service to log all incoming UDP and serial port packets, when checked.

Packets are logged with their hexadecimal values.

Highlight a series of hexadecimal values and then right click and choose "Convert to ASCII" to see the text equivalent if applicable.

Logging packets can affect the performance of the system so only turn this on when needed.

Debug

Checking this box will enable the running feed to display more robust information about what is happening with each incoming packet. This can help to diagnose a specific, recurring issue with one or all incoming traffic from reporting vehicles.
