Check Address Points against Address Ranges

Use this tool, located on Tools Menu > Show Map Editing Tools > Advanced Tools > Reporting, to report any address points that are not consistent with the address ranges on the map. A single address point layer that is selected is checked against all address range layers considering both the geometry and text of each address. The report layer is created listing the address points that had problems. An explanation of each issue is listed here:

"No range poly near point" The address symbol or associated polyline is not within 75ft of the closest address range polyline.

"Invalid layer type" This layer is not formatted as an address layer.

"house # is zero" The house number of the address point is zero

"odd/even error" The house number is odd when it should be even, or vise-versa, based on which side of the polyline it is on compared to the odd/even rules in the address range record.

"house # out of range" The house number of the address point is not within the high and low range listed for the nearest address range record.

"street name mismatch" The street name of the address point does not match the closest address range.

"direction mismatch" The direction of the address point does not match the closest address range.

"out of order" Two sequential address points are out of order along address range.

To check address points:

1) Select this tool from the Report menu.

2) Select a layer containing the address points to check

3) The addresses are then processed and the failed addresses are reported on a new layer.
