Communication Port

Select the serial port that the GPS receiver is connected to.

Serial ports are typically not labeled well on computers so if not sure, then try COM1 and then after completing the setup if it doesn't work try COM2, etc. To see a list of available ports on the computer select ports in Windows Device Manager Window.

If UDP is selected as the incoming port, then Think GIS will listen for NMEA formatted packets arriving on the Think GIS command port (UDP port 46112 by default). This option is used in conjunction with the TMAvlClient program. The TMAvlClient program monitors the attached GPS device and sends the locations to a remote AVL server. It can also be configured to send the same GPS data locally to Think GIS via UDP.
