Database Errors

 

 

 

Whenever Think GIS fails to retrieve one or more fields of data from an external database it will place an error message in the field in its place. The meaning of each error is described below.

 

-DB Err 1- The database connection information has been corrupted or lost. Remove the linked fields and re-add them.

-DB Err 2- Bad database connection handle. Restart Think GIS or remove and re-add linked fields.

-DB Err 3- A previous connection attempt failed and Think GIS has stopped trying to re-connect.

-DB Err 4- Same as DB Err 2

-DB Err 5- Connection attempt failed. Possible reasons include database does not exist, login information is missing or incorrect, database is already in use and does not permit multiple users, etc.

-DB Err 6- No "From" clause was found in the select statement. Edit the select statement associated with this field in the Layer Format screen.

-DB Err 7- No "Select" clause was found in the select statement. Edit the select statement associated with this field in the Layer Format screen.

-DB Err 8- There was a syntax error executing a query on the database. See session.log file in Think GIS directory for more details.
